SMS from Dr. Mads Gilbert in Gaza

They bombed the local market two hours ago. 80 people hurt, 20 killed.
Everything arrived here at Shifa. Hades!
We’re up to our knees in death, blood and amputations. Loads of children. Pregnant women.
I’ve never experienced anything this horrible! We hear the tanks now.
Tell this story, forward this SMS, shout it out loud. Everything!
DO SOMETHING! DO MORE!

This SMS went all over Norway some few nights ago. To whom Dr. Mads Gilbert (Wikipedia Entry) who incidentally hails to my own city of birth, originally sent this outcry I don’t know, but it tells a sad story which should compel us all into action.

Edit: I still stand for everything posted below but decided to hide it beneath the cut, since I believe the SMS speaks volumes and I really don’t want to politicize this blog too heavily.

While the subject of how the region in this war-ridden area should be divided may be a subject of honest and legitimate discussion, I feel that there should be room for no debate concerning the fucking madness instigated now by the war-mongerers in Israel. Read what I wrote now, before the hate-mails; The war-mongerers in Israel.1

This is bullshit! No, hang on; This is fucking genocide. It’s an act of evil. It is, in fact, terrorism. You don’t bomb, maim and murder civilian, innocent people because certain individual groups act against you. Whether those actions are considered terrorism or not. You don’t bomb cities to kill terrorists because if you do that makes you an evil fucking asshole!2
Don’t you fucking realize what you’re doing? Are these just “acceptable losses” to you? Are these children, fathers, mothers, grandparents, greengrocers, mechanics, programmers, teachers, bus drivers, secretaries, barkeeps, newlyweds, recently divorced, depressed, schizophrenics, happily or unhappily in love college students; Are these people just fluff to you? Are they just some sort of inconvenience for you on your mission to rid yourselves of some bad guys? Don’t you realize?

  1. I hate the fact that I even have to write this, but here goes the disclaimer anyway: I have nothing against jews. Well, not more than any organized religion anyway. In fact judaism seems more agreeable to me than christianity. And I have nothing against the people of Israel, in the same way that I wouldn’t have anything against germans during WW2.     i appreciate your human soul so much for many reason.
    1st you are brave because you accept to work in a place knowing very much that you could be a target for an army never compare between civilian and resistant party.
